The Casual Birder Podcast

A podcast for people interested in wild birds.

Birding is a great pastime. It can be done with others or alone. You don't need expensive equipment; your eyes or ears are enough.

And best of all, it doesn't really need any great commitment. The Casual Birder does as much or as little birding as suits them. It's perfect for fitting into our busy schedules.

Join me each episode as I:

  • talk about the birds I have seen,
  • interview others who enjoy wild birds, and
  • share comments and questions from listeners.

This week, I visited the BirdFair at Rutland Water, a nature reserve and site of special scientific interest, and went for an evening birdwalk on a farm across the county border in Leicestershire.

In the first part of this episode I speak about the talks I attended at the Bird Fair. I really enjoyed them and will provide the links below for the speakers.

In the second half of the episode I recorded an evening birdwalk at Rectory Farm.

I couldn't find links for Tim Melling or Helen Bryon, who both gave talks on birding holidays. Tim also works for the RSPB.
